Apologies for this belated post - I just received this information. Saturday January 9, 2010 at 3:15pm a Discovery Park naturalist located a Black-billed Magpie perched on a Douglas fir. This Douglas fir is in a isolated grove of conifers in a meadow north of the main meadow (sand dunes meadow). This is just north of the area referred to "locally" as Bird Alley. The bird flew south, south east out of the park.
Interesting to know if this is the Alki bird - and if so we obviously need to open a bakery in the park to keep it here.
