My son-in-law, Shawn Weigelt, and I photographed several Eurasian-collared Doves in two locations in the Sequim area this last weekend. I was skeptical because I didn't think this species was in western WA. Shawn ID'd the bird on the spot. I wanted to wait till I got home to examine the photos and cross-check several guides. There is no doubt that Shawn made the correct ID. We saw these birds near along Cays Road and also near the Audubon Center along the Dungeness river and Railroad Bridge Park.

Is this a common sighting in this location?
