It had been quite some time since I have seen any hawks in the trees near the fish hatchery or bordering the south edge of the marsh below Pt. Edwards.?? Today while my son and I were walking along Pt. Edwards, I saw what looked like a sharp shinned hawk about 400 yards away perched in a tree?below the great blue heron nests.??

I took some photos with my 400 zoom, then sat down, hoping it would fly up for some better photos.? As luck would have it, I no sooner put down my camera to tie my shoe when another raptor flew by us. I think it?was the resident red tailed hawk that I have been stalking since last year. ?I managed?some quick grab shots which amounted to nothing more than silhouettes.
