Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday January 21. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls
at 503-233-3976.

On January 19 a male TUFTED DUCK was on the Columbia River near Jones Beach
west of Clatskanie. This is the same area one was at last winter. The EE
Wilson SWA YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, the Gaston HOODED ORIOLE, and the
Netarts Spit SNOWY OWL continue to be see.

The first migrant TURKEY VULTURES were seen during the week in southwest
Oregon. BROWN PELICANS and a few HEERMANN?S GULLS continue along the coast.

On January 16 a TREE SPARROW was along Reeder Road on Sauvie Island. It was
about a mile and a half north of Coon Point. On January 18 a TURKEY VULTURE
was at Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge. A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW
was seen January 17 near the EE Wilson SWA Headquarters. On January 4 a
GOLDEN EAGLE was at Finley NWR. A SAY?S PHOEBE was near Creswell January 17.

During the afternoon of January 16 many thousands of ROBINS flew westward
over Hood River.

That?s it for this week.
