I will be teaching a class on the "Owls of Washington" this Saturday through
Seattle Audubon at the CUH at UW. The field trip with the class to
Bainbridge Island should result in close encounters with Barred Owls, and
vocalizations from them as well as Northern Saw-whet Owls, which are often
seen. If the group opts, I may start the field trip with a winter banding
session for Northern Saw-whet Owls prior to owling on Bainbridge and
vicinity. Barn Owls, Great Horned Owls, and possibly Northern Pygmy and
Western screech-owl may be detected. There is also an outside possibility
of seeing a Short -eared Owl, a difficult bird for Kitsap county for those
County listers..

I still have openings in the class and field trip.

Proceeds from the class go towards funding research into Barred Owls and
Northern Saw-whet Owls.
