Many thanks to all those who work on compiling this list and for taking
the time to explain how it was done and what its limits are. I like
having some idea what I can expect to see as I travel around the state.

One question: what constitutes "common" and "uncommon?" I ask
because Evening Grosbeak and Band-tailed pigeons are listed as
"uncommon" in Lewis County and they seem so common here to me. These
two species are frequent visitors to my five acres here betweeen
Centralia and Morton--just about in the middle of the county. There
were three dozen plus Evening Grosbeak here for several months last
year, and they have been here every day in 2010. Also, there were a
half dozen Band tailed Pigeons in my feeders every day for most of the
summer and fall. Whether there were only those 6 here or whether that
is just all that could fit in the feeders at once, I cannot say.

To me, that seems "common" (at least for the grosbeaks) unless my five
acres are the only place these birds hang out in Lewis County.

And BTW, there was a robin here today--eating worms by the dozen. The
Jays (Stellar) and the Juncos (dozens) were busy on the ground, too--far
from the white millet ground feeders where they usually hang out.
