Hi Tweets,

It was nippy on the waterfront this morning (1-25-10) with a light
breeze and broken clouds. At least it wasn't raining. Of interest
was the apparent peaceful coexistence of about 600 Dunlin on the
north part of the marina breakwater with an adult Bald Eagle perched
about 30 feet south of them. Pigeon Guillemots are molting and some
are now fairly black with their white wing patches. There were lots
of Song Sparrows at the Marsh but not the vigorous singing of last
week when the temperature was milder. There continues to be good
water levels in the Marsh, thanks to the rain and not to the tide
gate, which continues to be mismanaged for the Marsh and its
wildlife. There were several gulls bathing. The Willow Creek
Hatchery and Point Edwards area were fairly quiet, with only a few
birds seen or heard. No Blackbirds or Killdeer were seen this morning.
