On Jan. 27th Richard H. and I saw our first Ok. Co. Snowy Owl at the south
end of Cameron Lake Rd. I think everyone knows where the only residence
is up on top, at the south end. The bird was seen from the west side of
the residence, near a small pond (in summer); way to the south, sitting on
a fence post on the horizon. We con't. on towards Hwy. 97, making a left
turn, then a right. About 4 or 5 more power poles and we stopped again
and looked south. The owl was closer at this point. I tied a piece of
pink flagging tape on a fence post at this point. Good luck. Maybe
someone else will find it much closer to the road. Meredith Spencer,
