Tweets,

Interesting thread. I had a conversation about this topic about a month ago with my fiance who is a DVM. Someone had brought a small dog in to the clinic thinking it had been attacked by an owl, but she thought the wounds were more consistent with a Coyote, sparking a conversation of whether raptors pose a danger to small cats and dogs.

To add something to the conversation, I saw a Great Horned Owl take down a badger once. It did not try to fly off with it until after it had eaten some and it seemed to struggle with the load. I doubt it was a full-grown badger (I can't be sure, but it seems hard to fathom). Regardless, it was something very impressive to watch. A badger is still a badger after all!
