Hello Tweeters,
I thank Carol Riddell to write our trip up last weekend to visiting the
Pipestone Canyon.Carol and I parted in Whinthrop on Monday after we finding
all the many Ducks in the Sewage Ponds. For me the highlight of the trip in
the Canyon where the 2 Prairie Falcon interacting for such long time.It
looked that we had a male & a female, and the White Swift was on the same
spot.It was a great trip ,but not enough time.
After I left Carol I decided to checking out Loop Loop Campsite.I run in
to some people, there told me that there would be one of this Blasting on
Snowqualmy,so I decided to staying over night in the Campsite. There where
not to many birds, but here are some to mention. In the Campsite I
saw a Northern Pygmy Owl, on one of the highest tree tops .I also had a
Family of Bard Owls, trying to get closer for photos, one of the Adults
start flying over my head ,flying around me in circle's I never had
this happen, and I left the area where the young Owls where roosting.Late
around 10.00 PM I heard a Flammulated Owl calling in the distance.Tuesday
morning I found some Williamson's Sapsuckers, there been nesting in this
Campsite for years.Going back over the pass was slow, only 1 lane was
open,All in all ,it was a good trip, this was my second trip to the
Pipestone Canyon, last year we had the Least Flycatcher. This year there was
not found in Wenas and also not in the Canyon.
