Hello All,

Thanks to a posting from Russ Koppendrayer (see excerpts below), I was able
to observe both Red-eyed Vireo (1 bird) and W. Bluebird (2 adults & 1
immature) this morning (7/2/10), at the locations noted.

Hi Tweeters,
Tuesday (6/29/10) at the Port of Kalama North Property I had great looks at
a RED-EYED VIREO in the wooded area at the north end of the dredge spoils. I
went to the interior of the woods, but the paths are a bit dicey due to this
springs high water (driftwood, mucky etc.). The bird may respond to playback
from the vegetation edge. [ . . . . .]
At the Toutle River RV Resort on the southwest corner of I-5 exit 52 there
were 2 fledglings and an adult WESTERN BLUEBIRD hanging around the fenceline
separating this property from he railroad directly down from the
office/store. Check in at at the office to bird this property, which also
gives access to the BANK SWALLOW colony in the dredge spoil cutbank visible
from I-5 along a walking trail to the mouth of the Toutle River. The
bluebirds apparently nested in the nest boxes along this trail.
