I agree with Scott. One of my degrees is in Environmental studies. I have not seen or heard of this point made by Connie as a stereotypical value, thought, belief or characteristic being applied to environmentalists. I too believe Connie meant evolutionist or a related term.

I had briefly skimmed this thread and had not responded but did want to point out one thing. Connie wrote:

I would personally be careful of attaching the label of conservationist or environmentalist to these categories. There are many who have a scientific mind and think about these sorts of questions that are not what we would coin as "environmentalist". It might be better to replace the word environmentalist here with evolutionist.

Just wanted to clarify on that.
