I was down?at the marina last night after a week's absence on a motorcycle trip.??I saw ony one juvenile heron at the nest.? An old timer said the other one had drowned while trying to fly out?of the nest.?? He said the parents have quit feeding the sole survivor and?claimed that it is feeding on?eggs from a nearby gull's nest.???

I have to wonder what the?juveniles' chances of survival would have been had the parents?nested back at the rookery in the marsh.
