Hey tweets, Fall fell at the Fill today. I was out there early this
morning and found 5 LEAST SANDPIPERS! One of them was foraging on the
lily pads in the Lagoon, where the pads are especially thick this year
- tempting, perhaps, for later shorebirds to come. Two were on
Shoveler's Pond, where the south end is looking really muddy. Two were
on Main Pond, in the shorebirds' favorite spot, the southwest corner.
Why they like this little area is a mystery, but they have favored it
for years.

Also on view, in the dim light, a Caspian Tern, numerous Wood Ducks in
eclipse, and gorgeous Peregrine Falcon (perched in the Triple Tree in
Hunn's Meadow East). - Connie, Seattle
