All that rain on Thursday precluded work on my deck remodel or garden, so
I took a walk around my wooded plot here. Watched a Common
Yellowthroat flit from bush to tree to bush in the heavy underbrush.
Also saw Spotted Towhee, Rufous Hummingbirds (do they like foxglove?
because it is blooming everywhere now), and Stellar Jays, but the
biggest surprise were a half dozen Cedar Waxwings sitting high in a dead
tree. First time I have seen them on my five acres. Another fun
