Hi all,

I'm headed north next week and will be taking my spotting scope. Can I simply just carry on the scope attached to the tripod onto the plane as one of my personal items? I don't have a case to carry it in. I have checked bags before and seen items as binders and such crushed so I don't really want to put it in the checked luggage.
