I posted a question earlier about the Williamson's Sapsucker, and several folks have asked me where Bean Creek Basin is. Sorry I didn't include that in my post!



Bean Creek Basin is about 17 miles up the Teanaway River Road east of Cle Elum. It a trail from the end of a road that branches off of the Teanaway River Road just before the Beverly Creek Campground. Some of the hikes in that area still have a lot of snow. Bean Creek trail is clear of snow, the flowers are blooming, and the birds seem to love it too. On a warmer, less breezy day it would be pretty buggy. We got a late start--started hiking at noon--but still saw a lot of birds. You can find details about the trail and directions on the Washington Trails Association website.
