This afternoon I was surprised by what I presume was a cooper's hawk flying up from the back yard and landing on the fence.? It didn't stay in view long but I did think that I caught some not natural color on the birds leg as it flew off.? Opening the picture I was able to get of the bird before it flew off, confirms that there was a blue band on the right leg and metallic band on the left.? Somebody out there must know this bird more intimately than I was able to in the short time it was in my view.



I do have a picture which shows some detail of the bands, enough to tell the colors.? I understand that pictures are not ok to post in tweeters posts but I can email a copy if there is someone who would like to see the bird and the bands.
