Tweets, I've noticed a few posts re other-state birding experiences/spots.
I'll chime in. I recently returned from a 3-week family roadtrip from the
Carolinas & Gulf Coast to Texas Panhandle & New Mexico to SW Utah. Found
225+ species, hosted or directed by local birders several times to
incredible places: Mason Farm Biological Reserve near Chapel Hill; Bear
Island WMA, SC; Opal (Pensacola) Beach, FL; Dauphin Is, AL, plus Rio Grande
gorge, NM, and Lytle Ranch Preserve near St. George, UT. I'd be glad to
share what info, research, or experience I have from our route. I may even
write up a report if I can ever find the time. Good birding!
