Subject: [Tweeters] Tumwater Falls Dippers

My family and I went to Olympia yesterday July 6th, to see some of my
daughter's college hang-outs while she is visiting from California. We
decided to take a walk at Tumwater Falls. I was watching some CEDAR WAXWINGS
about 100 yards upstream from the lower bridge, when the thought occurred to
me, that this stream would be perfect for an AMERICAN DIPPER. As I was
thinking this, I spotted a gray object on a rock across the river. When I
got it in my binoculars, it moved and swam over to the next rock. A juvenile
AMERICAN DIPPER! Now would it not be wonderful, if one would just have to
think of a specific bird and it would materialize right in front of you!
We also did see an all gray adult just below the main falls on our way back
to the parking lot.

Good Birding!
