Subject: [Tweeters] Brant geese on Vashon Island

Another interesting summer sighting was emailed to me from John Friars this week. He saw 8 Brant swim by in front his place near KVI Beach (Pt. Heyer) on Monday. They often forage in the eel grass beds there February through early May but this is the Island's first summer record that I know about. I didn't realize they were even possible in summer in the Puget Sound area but looked in Wahl et al.'s Birds of Washington State which says that some subadults may be present.
