Hi Stephen and all,

I'm not certain of all the gaps in Acorn Woodpecker record since 2007,
but the last few months there have been 3 sight reports of them here in
w. Washington. (one in Olympia on May 16, the recent Wahkiakum bird, and
now this Guemes Island bird). I may actually be missing another recent
one or one that may not have been adequately documented. I believe the
Guemes Island Acorn Woodpecker is about the 8th for w. Washington. As
Steve Mlodinow reported in 2007 "they seem to pop-up in seemingly random
locations". Interesting. So I'm guessing I have a while before one
shows-up in my yard.
