For those who might be interested in making the trip to Bellingham, here are the details of where to go and what you might expect to see when you get here. Keep in mind that this is a secure, restricted area, so there is NO public access. But there are vantage points from which you can see/hear the spectacle.

The best way to the site, whether you're coming from the north or the south, is to take the Lakeway exit off the Interstate and head toward downtown Bellingham. After only three blocks, Lakeway turns into Holly Street and continues downhill. At the main downtown intersection at Cornwall Avenue, turn left and head south and downhill to 921 Cornwall Avenue.
At this address is a vacant building that is/was the Port of Bellingham Conference Center. On the left side of the building is a wheelchair ramp that goes up to a sizable landing from which you can observe most of the colony.

For more views and photo ops, you might continue to the beach/cove at the end of Cornwall, where you will see numerous terns fishing as they fly to and from the nesting site. You can also see the terns fishing along the entire waterfront all the way to Fairhaven and beyond!

Cheers to all,
