Here is the June 2010 report on turkey vultures.
A bit late, but World Cup does last a long time.
Many thanks for the great reports. The numbers
should be building up now that fledging is
beginning. For those not in the know regarding
our local vultures, old and young look pretty
much alike except for their heads: a dark
grey/black in young birds and red in the adults.

Following is the report for Washington, British Columbia, and Oregon:

01 ? 6 at Riffe Lake near Packwood; 2 north of
Sequim; a ?large flock? in Parksville, B.C.
03 ? 2 over Butchart Gardens, B.C.
04 ? 2 near Steamboat Rock
05 ? 2 sunning themselves near Hwys 10/97; 8 at
Swale Creek Canyon; 2 at Catherine Creek; 3 at Drano Lake
06 ? 1 at McGregor Marsh, Nanaimo, B.C.
08 ? 1 at the Cowlitz Trout Hatchery; 1 at Peters Road; 1 at Parksville, B.C.
11 ? ca. 12 between Redmond and Monroe perched in
tall trees; 1 at Champoeg Park, 1 near Keizer, 2
north of Albany, 2 east of Shedd, 2 north of
Junction City, 1 west of Harrisburg ? all in Oregon
12 - 7 at Cowiche Canyon; 3 cruising below the
Tatoosh Range (on the 13th, too); 1 over Eugene,
3 south of Coburg, 2 east of Harrisburg, 2 near
Tangent, 7 west of Lebanon, 4 near Albany, 4 near
Turner, 2 northeast of Lake Oswego ? all in Oregon; 1 east of Vancouver

Little Si; 1 near St. Andrews; 3 at Steigerwald
NWR, 2 west of Washougal, 2 west of Camas, 2 near
Woodland, 2 near Carrolls, 2 south of Kalama, 1

Leavenworth Road; 3-4 at the Railroad Ponds in
Cle Elum; 7 sunning themselves near the Cle Elum
osprey nest on I-90 with a few more in the air; 4
between Concrete and Sedro Woolley
17 ? 1 at Port Townsend
18 ? 1 at Marysville; 2 at Mt. Townsend
19 ? 1 north of Fall City
22 ? 1 at the Mt. Adams Veneer Mill Pond; 3
soaring over North Sandy Shores; 1 at Englishman River Estuary, B.C.
24 ? 2 circling low near the Dungeness River bridge in Sequim
26 ? 2 roosting in large trees at Stillwater; 1 over Seattle
27 ? ?several? at the Deep Creek Overlook; 1 at
Springwood Park, Parksville, B.C.
28 ? 1 west of Burlington; 2 east of La Conner; 3 northwest of Arlington
