I had a Bobwhite in my yard in Port Townsend about 10 years ago. It wandered
right through the yard, "bob-whiting" the whole way, then disappeared into
the brush, never to be seen again. I probably shouldn't mention it, but cats
in the vicinity (in addition to the humans) were extremely intrigued,
possibly explaining why the bird was never seen again.

Tweeties!

I'm hearing a very strange bird on my property this morning. It sounds
like a Bobwhite! Okay, since Bobwhites are eastern USA birds, what bird
around here would sound like a Bobwhite? Could it be a quail with a "bad
cold" or something?

Thanks,
