Lydia:
N. Bobwhite is a definite possibility here in the Snohomish-to-Marysville area. About eight years ago we had 3-4 sightings or heard-onlys in our area, near Highway 9 and along 92 between Lake Stevens and Granite Falls. Whether these birds are or were established here is doubtful; I recall the Tweeters discussion at the time provided hypothesis that these were (a) birds moving north from the established Ft. Lewis population; and (b) that these were escaped birds from hunters' releases nearby.
I recall that back in this time on a trip to Guemes Island in Skagit County, I heard several birds on the south end of the island, especially near the ferry landing. Since then several people have reported them there also. If anyone else has heard of Guemes I. N. Bobwhite out there in Tweeterland, please pass along to me. I did not hear any recently on a June visit this year.
