I will be visiting the Seattle area with my family for one week beginning on August 13th. We are staying 4 nights downtown and 3 nights near Gig Harbor. My one reasonable target life bird is Red-breasted Sapsucker. Can anyone recommend good locations to look for this species? I have ordered the ABA bird finding guide for Washington. Any other birding hotspots that you recommend would also be appreciated. My wife and kids are not serious birders though.
