Hi All,

A co-worker of mine that lives in Mill Creek has been telling me for some
time that I should check out the native growth protection area that runs
along the western edge of the town center. I finally made it over there for
an hour last week and was not disappointed. Even late in the morning bird
activity was everywhere, including singing Swainson?s Thrushes, foraging
Western Tanagers, Pacific-Slope and Olive-sided Flycatchers, tons of
towhees, Song Sparrows, robins, chickadees and more. I also watched
muskrats foraging in a small pond and a garter snake slithering across the
paved path. If you?ve never been to the area it is well worth a visit. If
you just park anywhere in the Mill Creek Town Center shopping area, you will
find the path directly to the west.
