Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

On July 22 an adult male MAGNOLIA WARBLER was photographed at Detroit Flats

25 in the Sandy River Delta. It could not be relocated, but probably is
still in the area. On July 28 a GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was at the Crescent
Lake. The Redmond WHITE-WINGED DOVE and the Eugene INDIGO BUNTING continue
to be seen.

Heavy shorebirds movements continue with immature birds now arriving. The
movement should peak in August.

On July 25 a MERLIN was seen in Nesika Beach north of Gold Beach. A
LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was at the Siltcoos River mouth July 25. Adult
RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS were seen July 26 near Tillamook and July 27 near
Gearhart. The Camp Rilea PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER continues to be seen.

On July 22 a group of 33 WHITE PELICANS were on Sauvie Island. On July 21 a
group of ten GREAT EGRETS were seen flying northward along the Willamette
River in Portland. On July 28, 53 WHITE PELICANS and 15 GREAT EGRETS were
at Fern Ridge Reservoir near Eugene.

That?s it for this week.
