Good morning Tweeters..

I wish I had a special and rare sighting to report, but nothing so far.
We've had the pleasure of watching the arrival of spring migrants, the
territorial displays, and listening to morning chorus. Before we realized
it, new parents were feeding young ones; young ones fledged and are now
begging for food.

Three hummingbird feeders have been placed at the office to accommodate the
crowd of Rufous, Calliope, and Black-chinned Hummingbirds. Most are female.
We still have feeders (both seed and nectar) set up at the host site in the
campground.

The Bluebird trail saw four pair of Western Bluebirds use our boxes (we
started the trail last year with one Bluebird pair occupying a box).

We've noticed up here that Tree and Violet-green Swallows are beginning to
gather on power lines. It's quite a sight just before they migrate.

Though we have not had any rare winged visitors up through now, I'm looking
forward to the fall and winter birds that will visit the park.

Anytime any of you would like to check out the park, let me know, and I will
make arrangements to give you a special tour.
