Subject: [Tweeters] Potholes Shorebird Habitat

Went out today for the first time in several months. The shorebird habitat
at Potholes Reservoir is almost non-existent. Apparently the water level
has been held up and the typical shorebird habitats at Lind Coulee, Perch
Point, and Potholes State Park are almost completely submerged at this time.
The water level is falling rapidly, and in a week or two will be prime
real-estate, but right now if you wish to shorebird in Grant County about
the only place is County Line Ponds west of Othello, or Soap Lake. I didn't
have time to check either location as work again called, but I am sure there
are likely shorebirds there. Since I didn't get down towards Othello I am
uncertain of the condition of Para Ponds, CNWR or McCain's.

Cheers

Doug
