256 Caspian Tern chicks were captured, banded, and released back to the colony yesterday morning on the waterfront in Bellingham.

The entire process was well planned and executed by a team from Oregon State University and Bird Research Northwest, with a couple of locals included for good measure. The primary focus was to get the job done and minimize stress on the 4-5 week-old chicks.
