I visited Seattle's Seward Park on Monday and heard barred owl contact
whistles off of the main path running up the middle of the peninsula.
There were multiple juveniles calling from the area, and after a little
work, we managed to get all four (!) in view at once, before they all flew
across a clearing to the join the adult, likely female, owl. A short time
later the second adult flew up from the ground and delivered a medium-sized
snake to one of the juveniles, for a personal best total of 6 barred owls
in view.
