Today I spent the day birding the east end of Riffe Lake and working my way east just past Packwood.
At the east end of Riffe Lake I had;
WOOD DUCK - 4
TURKEY VULTURE - 6
OSPREY - 2
BALD EAGLE - 2
SPOTTED SANDPIPER - 1
RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD - 1
WILLOW FLYCATCHER - 3
PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER - 3
WARBLING VIREO - 2
BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER - 1
SAVANNAH SPARROW - 1
I then headed east to Randle where I took Cline Rd. and returned back to Hwy 12 further east. Along the road I had;
TURKEY - 1
WILLOW FLYCATCHER - 1
PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER - 3
WARBLING VIREO - 1
BUSHTIT - 2
SWAINSON'S THRUSH - 1
CEDAR WAXWING - 8
YELLOW WARBLER - 1
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER - 1
BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER - 1
BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK - 2
Next was a quick stop at FR 49. Here I had;
MOURNING DOVE - 1
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW - lots
HOUSE WREN - 1 (Probably the same one that Ken Knittle and Tom Mansfield had a month ago)
I continued east past Packwood and stopped at the Thompson Rd. clearcut. Here I had;
RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD - 1
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW - lots
CHIPPING SPARROW - 5
My last stop was a walk down FR 1270. Here I had;
OSPREY - 1
SPOTTED SANDPIPER - 1
HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER - several
