Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday June 3. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

Good migratory movements continued through the week with NIGHTHAWKS and
EASTERN KINGBIRDS arriving.

On May 27 a BLUE GROSBEAK was in Newport and was seen for several days.
Another BLUE GROSBEAK was reported May 31 from the Fernhill Wetlands in
Forest Grove. A HOODED WARBLER was at Cold Springs Campground near Sisters
May 31 and another was in Portland?s Forest Park June 1. A TENNESSEE WARBLER
was in Eugene May 27 and at Malheur Headquarters May 31. A BALTIMORE ORIOLE
was in Neskowin May 29.

A GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was photographed May 29 at the Tualatin NWR. On May
29 a VEERY, ACORN WOODPECKER, and ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER were on Sauvie
Island. ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHERS were also seen in Brookings and Newport. A
LEAST FLYCATCHER was seen May 31 in Battleground, WA. Two possible ELEGANT
TERNS were reported from Newport May 31.

On May 30 an INDIGO BUNTING and a CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER were at Denio
Canyon south of Fields. A female HOODED ORIOLE was in Fields through the
week; a male was in Lakeview May 27. A COMMON GRACKLE spent the week moving
between Frenchglen and the Steens Mountain Resort to the east. A BLACKPOLL
WARBLER was at Benson Pond May 30. A female BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was at
Malheur Headquarters May 27; a male was there May 30. On May 31 an EASTERN
PHOEBE was photographed along Lizard Creek Road off Hwy 20 in Deschutes
County. A NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was seen June 1 at the Black Butte Ranch
Marsh.
