As upsetting as the whole mess is, I think it's important for everyone to see these images and never forget what BP has done/is doing to the Gulf Coast. Keep in mind that this will happen again and again if we the people don't speak out and demand more protection for the environment and the future of this place we call home. We need to send a strong message to those who will lead and get rid of those who will use this as political fodder.

This is happening in my home state, by the way, and it's more painful than I can ever begin to tell you. I've watched gas and oil companies and politicians destroy the coastal marshes of Louisiana for decades and this incident brings it all home, in a most catastrophic way!

I hesitated to forward it on to Tweeters but finally decided that it is so very important that we all know what is really going on in the Gulf of Mexico and to clearly see how it is impacting the birds that we love so much.
