Hi Tweeters,
Today (6/4/10) I spent some time birding Lewis County. At the wetlands to
the south of US 12 on Peters Road just west of Randle I saw a huge number of
BANK SWALLOWS mixed with smaller numbers of all the typical west side
swallows. There must be a large nesting colony somewhere in the area. Also
of interest along this road was WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE, WILLOW FLYCATCHER, and
LAZULI BUNTING. A later stop west of Packwood at the clearcut at the
beginning of FR 48 produced the HOUSE WREN previously reported. Also seen at
this stop were 2 WESTERN KINGBIRDS and a MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER.
