hello everyone,
By now, you've all heard about the terrible oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Some of you might remember this is not the first major oil spill to occur there, as there was another one in 1979, as Rachel Maddow reminds us:

Anyway, this is not a new event, but some people claim that we should euthanize all oiled birds immediately upon recovering them. But I argue it is our ethical responsibility to protect, clean and save these birds, even after they've been oiled, just as we should preserve and clean their habitats;
