To follow up on the messages regarding the link to oiled bird
photographs, I looked at some pretty sickening photos at The
Washington Post web site yesterday. I maintain the bird information
box at the Edmonds Beach Ranger Station at the base of the Public
Pier. The photos were so compelling, that I printed them and mounted
them in the bird box this morning with a black-bordered sign that reads:

April 20, 2010 - No End in Sight

I hope a lot of visitors to the Edmonds Waterfront Festival see them
this weekend and perhaps make a connection to what could happen in
our own state if offshore drilling is allowed. This environmental
disaster may end up dwarfing Chernobyl.
