During my 4-day (birding) bicycle tour of Eastern Washington this past weekend I checked out Aeneas Valley Rd. (about half way up Wauconda Pass along SR 20 from Tonasket to Republic) and saw some very nice male Bobolinks in the wet meadows within the first 2 miles from SR 20.
I didn't find any Black-backed Woodpeckers in the recently-burned area on the east side of Loup Loup Pass, but it was raining hard and I was cold and wet, so I didn't spend much time looking.
among many nice birds along the roadside, I did see lots of Western Tanagers (many locations), and a chortling male Yellow-breasted Chat on top of a bush as I climbed up to the west of Coulee Dam, just past the turnoff to the viewpoint.
