is it that the original disc will not load on your laptop? or did you buy
the original version on-line? I have used Avisys for probably two decades,
in the beginning when I needed help I found the guy who created it very
responsive and helpful (can't remember his name & too lazy to go downstairs
to find it).

I've moved my data probably 4 times over that two decades, and never had a
problem, first loading the software on the purchased disc on the new
computer, then going on-line to update & configure the software a bit, then
transferring my data (always on a floppy, but I haven't done a transfer
since maybe 2004).

only problem I've found is that my "field notes" from the early 90s are no
longer readable, because I did not do the necessary transfer at some point
in the past. but all the listings & material in the "comment" block is
good.
