While slowly motoring around Duck Lake (Ocean Shores) yesterday in a pontoon
party boat I saw a male Western Tanager fly in and perch atop a Red Alder.
The area known as The Point is part of The Weatherwax Property and protrudes
into Duck Lake with very little human disturbance. This is only the second
time I have seen a tanager in the 11 & 1/2 yrs I have lived here.
