Tweets,
Saw Carol's post on weather for eastern Washington and wanted to give some recap for the upcoming weekend. After a mild winter, it has also been a mild spring with above average rain. This means that some of the mountain birding will really be more similar to mid to late May birding than mid June. It also means that though there was a lack of mountain snow last winter, it has been slow to melt. Needless to say bring layers for people going on Chelan County trips. For douglas county trips the mild weather has been a blessing as typically it would be quite hot during June in Douglas and Grant Counties. Forecast for Wenatchee is 75F on Friday warming up to 85-90F on Sat-Mon so while its been been mild be sure to bring layers and sun protection as it looks like summer is finally start to poke its head out.

Field trips will encounter a wide range of weather conditions, some mountain trips will run into snow while by Sunday some of the shrub-steppe trips will be wanting shade and lots of water. The biggest chance of any rain will come from Chelan County trips on Friday, especially those closer to Leavenowrth and the Cascades, though its still only about a 30% chance.
