Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday June 10. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On June 5 a LESSER NIGHTHAWK was reported from Kumbo Reservoir on Malheur
NWR. Another was reported from Fields June 7. Both sightings were in large
flocks of COMMON NIGHTHAWKS.

At Fields during the week a male and female HOODED ORIOLE, a male HOODED
WARBLER, a male BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER, two NORTHERN PARULAS, and a
TENNESSEE WARBLER were seen. On Jun 3 a BALTIMORE ORIOLE was at Malheur
NWR. On June 6 several BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLERS, an AMERICAN REDSTART, a
CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER, and an OVENBIRD were at Malheur Headquarters. High
water during the week closed both the north and south Central Patrol Roads.

On June 5 a NORTHERN PARULA was at Flores Lake in Curry County. Two
WHIMBRELS and three LONG-BILLED CURLEWS were seen June 5 at the mouth of
Siltcoos River. A large flock of WHITE PELICANS were at the mouth of the
Necanicum River June 4. That day six BLACK SWIFTS were over Astoria. Both
kingbirds, chats, and RED-EYED VIREOS are now at the Sandy River Delta. On
June7 four WHITE-FACED IBIS were at Ankeny NWR.

On June 8 a ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was at Shevilin Park near Bend. Another
was at Roaring Springs Ranch south of Frenchglen June 6. A male BROAD-TAILED
HUMMINGBIRD was at Malheur Headquarters that day. Also on June 6 a
WHITE-WINGED DOVE was at Denio south of Fields. A WANDERING TATTLER was seen
June 6 at Summer Lake.
