Subject: [Tweeters] Gulf Oil Spill Disaster: Spawn of the Living Dead for

hello again, everyone,

the seabird story was meant to present data that i found when trying to verify the german biologist's numbers that she used to support her opinion to "kill all oiled birds." in short, i found her numbers were rather biased and very out-of-date, and i thought i should point that out. even though oil spills are emotional topics, and euthanasia is a VERY emotional topic, i sent that piece to you because i think it is important to use our heads rather than throwing our hands up and simply giving up in the face of such a huge disaster.

anyway, that said, i wrote another piece about a marine species i love and admire: bluefin tuna. these fabulous fishes are already critically endangered and new research shows that they migrate to the gulf of mexico every year to spawn -- oh, and they spawn in may! oh, and did i mention that this research shows that the deepwater horizon rig is located smack-dab in the middle of one of their two spawning areas? *facepalm*
