Thanks to everyone for all the help with information on finding birds. I unfortunately still need some help with more details on where to find certain birds. Those that I still need help with are:

Harlequin Duck (any seen recently?)
California Quail (in Seattle?)
Black Swift (Mount Rainier or Olympic locations please)
Hammond's Flycatcher
Dusky Flycatcher
Gray Flycatcher (Yakima/Ellensburg area?)
Cassin's Vireo
Hermit Warbler (near Olmpia, eastern Olympic Peninsula?)
McGillivray's Warbler (have missed this one too many times!)

Thanks!

Subject: [Tweeters] Help with finding birds....

Hi there,
I am going to be visiting Seattle with my mom and dad in about a week and I would like to find some birds while in the area. We are going to be in south and central Seattle, Bainbridge Island, Mount Rainier National Park near Paradise, Olympic National Park (Hurricane Ridge, Sol Duc Falls, Hoh Rainforest, on the coast), Port Angeles, and possibly even in the Yakima/Ellensburg area.

This is not a birding trip, more or less a family trip, so I can't stray too far from where we are planning on going to see these birds. I would like to have places to go where many of these birds are present so I don't wear on their patience :)

Here is a list of birds I would like to see:

Harlequin Duck (Sol Duc Falls Area, near Cougar Rock Campground at Mt Rainier?)
White-tailed Ptarmigan (any place not far off the road at Mt Rainier to see this species)
California Quail (in Seattle?)
Black Oystercatcher (Port Angeles, Olympic's beaches?)
Black Swift
Anna's Hummingbird
Hammond's Flycatcher (would a tape help?)
Dusky Flycatcher (" ")
Gray Flycatcher (Yakima/Ellensburg area?)
Hutton's Vireo
Cassin's Vireo (Mount Rainier NP?)
Clark's Nutcracker
Northwestern Crow (should be pretty easy?)
Hermit Warbler (near Olmpia, eastern Olympic Peninsula?)
McGillivray's Warbler (have missed this one too many times!)
Lazuli Bunting
Cassin's Finch

and I know these are not likely but.....
Whimbrel (any summering?)
Mew Gull (any summering?)
Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch

Thanks in advance!
