Hello Tweets:
If you haven't been to Gig Harbor, Wa., recently you may want to plan a trip
and experience the "Year of the Heron Festival".
16 Heron sculptures are placed all around the Historic Waterfront area, from
the north end of the bay all the way to the south end
of the Historic district. While walking the harbor, you will pass by the
brand new Gig Harbor History Museum, and 4 new City Park venues
that have been preserved recently overlooking the waterfront.
All the proceeds generated by this fantastic event goes directly back into
Arts education in the Peninsula School District Elementary schools.
Artists receive funding to present an artistic medium to the various classes
throughout the year. Great festival, great birds, great time, and wonderful
bird-watching
around Gig Harbor and the Key Peninsula, as well, to round out your day.
Visit www.salmonchantedharbor.org for details or www.gigharborguide.com for
other trips and venues in the area.
