Tweets,

I was quite amazed at the numbers of territorial male GRAY FLYCATCHERS I
encountered on two of my field trips out of Wenatchee during the conference.
In fact, Gray Flycatchers were by far the most common Empidonax flycatcher
on two routes, the first up No. 2 Canyon southwesterly from Wenatchee, near
the summit of Horse Lake Mtn. at ca. 3500-4000 feet in open Ponderosa
parkland, where we found at least 10 territorial males singing, the second
on Badger Mtn. (Douglas County) at the Graevell's property on QSW and back
along QSW near the junction with 2SW south of Badger Mountain Road at the
summit, another half dozen territorial males, also in open Ponderosa Pine
woodland.

Prior to 1970 there were ZERO Gray Flycatcher records for the state!
