Hello everyone,

I just published a book review of a sadly overlooked gem, LIFT (Los Angeles: Red Hen Press; 2009), by Rebecca O'Connor. This appropriately named book tells about a falconer's growing relationship with her first peregrine falcon, and also reveals the author's battle to rise above her personal struggles and challenges. This book soars as a memoir, interweaving the author's life story with an engaging narrative of flying a falcon. Read more:

you might also enjoy knowing that from today through 30 July, ALL content published by the Royal Society journals is available free of charge, to celebrate their 350th anniversary -- that's three and a half centuries of scientific work!
