Today I was out at the Bob Heirman Wildlife Park south of Snohomish. The
lake is getting the summer bloom and lots of aquatic plants are growing.
Feathers from the various species that use the lake for feeding or breeding
were here and there trapped in the vegetation along the shore: ducks,
swallows, and eagle.
An adult bald eagle flew low, talons down and plucked a fish from the water,
then flew across the field to a tree by the river.
There were lots more species but I was busy labeling sediment core
samples and did not keep a list. It was a beautiful day and a great place to
go.
